I started learning photography while working as an editor for a business magazine in my home country. They sent me to conferences around the world, and very often there was no-one to take pictures except me. The glossy magazine does not want the crappy pictures, so I had to learn how to use the serious gear. By the time when the pictures taken by me were good enough to appear on the magazine’s cover, I realized that photography for me is more stimulating and satisfying than writing. But it took a few more years and a move to Australia to focus on this new career.
